How the book works

Sellers bring assets to this desk because nothing is advertised: no listing, no leak, no signal to tenants, lenders or competitors that an asset is in play. That confidentiality is why the assets are here at all, and it is why this page describes categories rather than naming them. Buyers who register a mandate see the real thing: where a live asset matches your stage, scale, regions and structure, we make a direct, confidential introduction, with the seller's approval on every name.

We never publish placeholder stock and we never invent an asset to start a conversation. If nothing on the desk matches your mandate today, we say so, and the mandate stays live for what arrives.

What trades here

The four categories on the desk

Operational solar farms

Energised, income producing assets sold on their revenue stack, lease and connection. Single farms and portfolios.

Ready to build projects

Consented schemes with accepted grid connections, priced on time and certainty. Pre 2030 connection dates lead the demand.

Consented land & grid connections

Sites carrying planning consent and accepted connection offers, the scarcest input in the reformed queue.

Co-located solar & BESS

Schemes pairing generation with storage on a shared connection, and standalone BESS with accepted offers.

FAQ

Buying solar assets: common questions

Why are there no listings on this page?

Because the assets we broker are not listed anywhere. Sellers come to us for confidentiality, and buyers see assets under mandate, after registering what they acquire. Publishing listings would misdescribe how this market works, and we do not publish placeholder or invented stock.

How do I see what is currently trading?

Register a buyer mandate. Tell us stage, capacity band, regions and structure preference, and where a live asset matches we make a confidential introduction. If nothing matches today, your mandate stays on the desk for what arrives tomorrow.

Are solar farms ever sold on the open market?

Operational UK solar farms are openly marketed by national agents; Savills brought the Wisbridge Solar Farm to market at a guide of £1.15 million and Strutt & Parker have marketed operational farms alongside agricultural land (Solar Power Portal / Savills / Strutt & Parker (captured in seo/serp.json), 2025). Those public sales are the visible tip; the volume trades privately between principals.

What sizes of asset trade?

Everything from single small farms to NSIP-scale projects and platforms. The buyer pool changes with scale, which is one of the things a mandate captures.

How much does a solar farm cost to buy?

Operational assets are priced on income and capacity rather than a list price, and RTB projects on the value of consent, connection and programme. Our knowledge guides explain both pricing logics before you register a mandate.
